Hawks

A youth group with a difference.

‘Hawks’ is a youth project for teenagers and young adults (starting age between 15 – 19) and is part of Camp Mohawk’s Short Breaks Programme which is aimed at children and young people with HFA (High Functioning Autism) and AS (Aspergers Syndrome).

Hawks youth group meets on Thursday evenings during term time and uses Camp Mohawk as its primary venue, as well as offering regular activities in Maidenhead, Reading and Wokingham. The group participates in a variety of activities including archery, cookery, games nights, camp fires, laser quest, bowling, trips to the cinema, meals out, go-karting, shopping and discos at Camp Mohawk.

The friendly and supportive staff are there to encourage members to have fun and make friends, and the experiences offered are aimed at boosting confidence and self esteem.

There is a voluntary fee of £50 per term (we may occasionally ask for an additional voluntary donation for some external activities).

There is currently a waiting list in operation for places at Hawks youth group. For more information and to arrange a visit to talk about joining Hawks please contact donna.levy@campmohawk.org.uk for details.
