What a rollercoaster of a year! We’ve all adapted to new routines, lots of testing and tracing, locking down and opening up. Families tell us the unsettling changes, increased isolation and closure of many other support groups has made life even more challenging than usual for them.
At Camp Mohawk online support has been a big hit with many children, our campfire cinemas in the winter meant regular groups could still meet and stay safe and our brilliant new music room is fully open! We’ve put on more family support sessions than ever to try to welcome as many families as possible – despite social distancing. And we’ve had amazing feedback – thank you!
The pandemic has continued to affect our community fundraising which pays for a big chunk of our core costs; the kind of costs that keep the lights on, train our staff and pay essential bills. We need to plug this hole so we’re asking you to get involved in our Giving Tuesday 2021 appeal #whatidoontuesdays
Here’s how you can support usl:
- Each Tuesday in November please post a photo on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram of what you’re up to. Regular, daily life is ideal; your walk to school or work, your cat/dog/rabbit/fish in action, your evening run or Zoom exercise class, whatever you have for breakfast or your Tuesday dinner! Please add the hashtag #whatidoontuesdays and the link to our appeal page.
- If you can, make a small donation to the appeal here
Every pound and every post counts. Together we can make sure Camp Mohawk is there for children with special needs in 2022 and beyond.
